I created The Chef's Directory to bring the world of hospitality together under one roof. As you can see we believe in a much more visual medium with video playing a central role in almost every story.
My background
Over the last 25 years I've had a lot of experience in film production, journalism and hospitality, as you can see:
Trained in film production at Pinewood Studios
Studied story structure under Hollywood story guru Robert McKee and comedy master Danny Simon
Spent two years in Los Angeles writing screenplays in Hollywood.
Worked for five years as a chef and caterer
Written nearly 50 articles for The Times
Founded Restaurant Magazine and worked for four years as Editor at Large
Invented The World’s 50 Best Restaurants award
Won the Glenfiddich award for Food Writer of the Year
Produced close to 200 food, chef, restaurant, equipment and ingredient films for the internet. Some of which have been viewed over 100,000 times and others have been viewed in over 90 countries.
Filmed in some of the worlds greatest kitchens such as The Ivy, The Waterside Inn, Restaurant Andrew Fairlie, The French Laundry, Jean-Georges and many more.
Created films for clients of international repute such as British Airways and Fortnum & Mason as well as national food and restaurant suppliers such as Aubrey Allen and Global Knives.
